Understanding the EU’s Tobacco Products Directive
Passed in May of 2014, the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) is a set of laws governing the manufacture, distribution and sale of all nicotine-containing products in the European Union. Every country is required to adhere to these rules at a minimum; individual countries may choose to pass additional regulations, including the prohibition of internet sales.
We are making the following changes in order to comply with the TPD mandates:
- Our Vapour 2 e-liquids will be sold in 10 ML bottles instead of 25 ML. The 25 ML bottles will remain available until Nov 2016 and only while supplies last.
- The highest nicotine strength allowed by the TPD is 2.0%; because of this, we will be discontinuing our 2.4% strength, effective Nov 2016. This strength will remain available until then if supplies last.
- The packaging of all products containing nicotine will be updated to include the warnings and imagery required by TPD.
